This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX for the Indian (in) region.
INTRODUCTION
This article describes a country-specific update that is available for the changes in File Validation Utility (FVU) 3.3 for electronic Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) returns and electronic Tax Collection at Source (TCS) returns in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 with the India localization layer installed.
FVU 3.3 will be applicable for the quarterly TDS/TCS statements that apply to FY 2010-11 onwards. The statement of filing generated must be validated with the new utility and converted in the encrypted format before the statement is filed online on the TIN website.
A country-specific update for the file structure is available to comply with the changes.
Note The current Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 generated e-filings are not compliant with FVU 3.3.
More Information
According to regulatory changes by the Indian Income tax Department, effective February 1, 2012, all filings for the FY 2010-11 onwards will be filed after validation with the FVU 3.3.
The file validation utility will be applied in the following processes:

Regular returns (26Q, 27Q, 27EQ) validation
-
Correction returns (Corrections for 26Q, 27Q, 27EQ) validation
The new format that complies with the FVU 3.3 requires addition of certain data in the return files that are generated from Microsoft Dynamics AX.
For regular returns (26Q, 27Q, 27EQ) and correction returns (Corrections for 26Q, 27Q, 27EQ) that are generated from Microsoft Dynamics AX, the following information is added or updated in the file structure:

Consolidated file hash is added to the file header.

The Transfer Voucher/DDO serial number fields are updated to be mandatory for government deductor in challan details.

The Bank-Branch Code/Form 24G Receipt Number fields are updated to be mandatory for government deductor in challan details.
Note

The consolidated file is mandatory to be downloaded from the TIN/NDSL website by using valid TAN and to be used in validation of corrections when the corrections are validated through FVU 3.3.

Addition of these fields make returns that are generated from Microsoft Dynamics AX comply with FVU 3.3.
