Not sure if this is the right fix? We've added this issue to our memory dump diagnostic which can confirm.

Symptoms

  • You have a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2. The computer supports the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) standard.

  • You use the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) interface to query the hardware status on the computer.

In this scenario, a Wmiprvse.exe process may crash. Additionally, an event ID 1000 is added to the Application event log. The description of the event resembles the following:

Cause

This problem occurs because the Ipmiprv.dll module leads the Wmiprvse.exe process to crash. This behavior depends on certain hardware sensor types when the sensor is enumerated.

The security catalog files, for which the attributes are not listed, are signed with a Microsoft digital signature.
