Symptoms

When you click Add Existing Activity from the activity list of a Sales Force Automation entity in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, the Appointment records and the Service Activity records are not displayed in the lookup page. This problem occurs if the activities have the Scheduled status.

Cause

This problem occurs because the default FetchXml statement that is used to retrieve the activities for the Lookupdata.aspx page does not retrieve scheduled activities.

Resolution

To enable this hotfix on the computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, follow these steps:

  1. Under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM\registry subkey on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server, add the following REG_DWORD registry entry:

    LookupActivityPointerScheduled

  2. Set the value of the registry entry that you just added to 1.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
