Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010:

  • You use Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to build an enterprise-level data integration and data transformation solution.

  • You split the dataflow to point to multiple destination objects.

  • You set the AccessMode property of the destination object to use OpenRowset Using FastLoad for a DB2/MVS or a DB2/LUW (Linux, UNIX, Windows) system to help speed up the insertion of data into a remote DB2 database.

In this scenario, SSIS may crash. Additionally, if you run the dtexec utility (dtexec.exe) to troubleshoot this problem, you may find an error message that resembles the following log entry:

Message: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E14. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft DB2 OLE DB Provider" Hresult: 0x80040E14
Description: "An internal network library error has occurred. A network level syntax error has occurred. SQLSTATE: HY000, SQLCODE: -379".
