Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You establish a Remote Desktop Procedure (RDP) connection from a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3-based device to a computer.

  • The computer runs one of the following operating systems:

    • Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2)

    • Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1 )

    • Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

  • A USB storage device is attached to the CE device.

  • The drive direction feature is enabled on the CE device, and the USB drive is redirected to the computer.

  • You try to copy a file from the computer to the USB drive.

In this scenario, if the file size is larger than the volume size of the CE device, but the file size is smaller than the volume size of the USB storage device, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

There is not enough space on CE_volume_name_or_folder_name. You need an additional nnn MB to copy these files.
