Summary

This article describes the Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated February 28, 2012.

INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you have a PowerPoint presentation that contains a link to an OLE object in PowerPoint 2010. When you break the link in Slider Sorter view, PowerPoint 2010 crashes.

  • When you save a PowerPoint presentation as a Windows Media Video (.wmv) file, the file attribute is set to AT incorrectly. In this situation, the .wmv file cannot be replicated by Distributed File System Replication (DFSR).

  • Assume that the default text style settings are changed in a PowerPoint 2003 presentation. When you open the presentation in PowerPoint 2010 and then duplicate a placeholder, some of the original default text style settings are applied to the duplicated placeholder unexpectedly.

  • Assume that you set Shadow 17 or Shadow 18 as the default format for shapes in PowerPoint 2003. When you paste a bitmap picture or an object from the clipboard into a presentation in PowerPoint 2010, the default format for shapes that you set in PowerPoint 2003 is applied unexpectedly to the bitmap picture or to the object. Additionally, when you open the presentation in PowerPoint 2003, the bitmap picture or the object is not displayed.

  • When you try to use VBA code to access a group item that contains many OLE shapes in PowerPoint 2010, you receive the following error message:

    Run-time error '424':

    Object required
