Symptoms

Assume that you have a database availability group (DAG) that is in Datacenter Activation Coordination (DAC) mode. You perform one of the following operations:

  • You run the Stop-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup cmdlet with the DomainController parameter during a datacenter switchover.

  • You run the Start-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup cmdlet with the DomainController parameter after a datacenter switchover.

In this situation, the operation fails and you receive the following error message:

Warning: An unexpected error has occurred and a Watson dump is being generated: Save() called on session other that one used to create this object.

Cause

This issue occurs because a new session is created when the DomainController parameter is used. The new session causes the code to generate InvalidOperationException and results in the issue that is described in the "Symptoms" section.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:

2645995 Description of Update Rollup 1 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 2
