Summary

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 hotfix package that is dated August 28, 2012.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you open a slide show (slide show B) by clicking a hyperlink in another slide show (slide show A) in Presenter View in PowerPoint 2010. When slide show B ends and Presenter View returns to slide show A, PowerPoint 2010 stops responding.

  • When you use PowerPoint 2010 to preview presentations in the Outlook preview pane, the pointer disappears.

Note The pointer does not disappear in Preview mode in PowerPoint 2007.

  • When you use PowerPoint 2010 to print wide-screen slides that you created by using PowerPoint 2013 Preview, the slides are not printed correctly.

Note After you apply the hotfix package that is described in this article, the behavior of the "Scale to fit" option in PowerPoint 2010 is changed. The "Scale to fit" option is enabled when you use PowerPoint 2007 to open slides that are wider than 10 inches, that use a ratio of 4:3, and that were created in PowerPoint 2013 Preview.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You set a zoom level in PowerPoint 2010 so that only part of a slide is displayed.

    • You add a shape to the slide.

    • You select the shape and then run a macro to set a Tag property for the shape.

    • You click the shape.

In this scenario, the center of the shape is displayed in the center of the PowerPoint window unexpectedly.
