Symptoms

Assume that you run the New-InboxRule cmdlet or change the Inbox rules in Outlook Web App in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment. However, some folder-associated information (FAI) items are deleted from the Inbox. When this issue occurs, the forms and views that are held by the FAI items disappear. For example, email messages disappear from the Inbox folder on a BlackBerry device.

Cause

This issue occurs because Exchange 2010 incorrectly deletes items whose message class is alphabetically ranked after the IPM.RuleOrganizer message class in the FAI tables.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:

2746164 Description of Update Rollup 6 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 2
