Symptoms

Assume that you deploy a Network File System (NFS) server that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 in a network environment. When a user tries to access the files on the NFS server from a client computer, the operation fails intermittently. Additionally, the NFS server returns an "Access Denied" error message.

For example, you back up files from the client computer to the NFS server. In this example, the operation fails intermittently, and you receive an "NFS3ERR_ACCESS" error message.

Additionally, the following is a sample network trace that is generated when this problem occurs:
341492	Time	10.237.53.78	nfs	10.237.54.51 44885	NFS	V3 WRITE Reply (Call In 340938) Error:NFS3ERR_ACCES

Windows Server 2008 R2 file information notes
Important Windows 7 hotfixes and Windows Server 2008 R2 hotfixes are included in the same packages. However, hotfixes on the Hotfix Request page are listed under both operating systems. To request the hotfix package that applies to one or both operating systems, select the hotfix that is listed under "Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2" on the page.
