This article introduces a performance improvement for the Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query designer in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel.

Symptoms

Assume that you use SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot for Excel to import data from Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS 2012) to an Excel worksheet. This hotfix improves the performance of the MDX query designer after you finish the design of the MDX query and then click OK.
