Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You create a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based image that uses the HIVE-based registry.

You start the image on a device. During "boot phase 0" when the "boot hive" in read-only memory (Boot.hv) is being used, a volatile registry key is created in a driver that is loaded.
In this scenario, HIVE-based registry corruption may occur, and the registry keys cannot be read.

Restart requirement
After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.

On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
