Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You have a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based image that uses the Flash model device driver (MDD) and platform-dependent driver (PDD) architecture on a device.

The device uses flash memory.

You start the device.
In this scenario, a "Data Abort" exception may occur, and this exception causes the device not to start or not to access a file system volume that is stored on the flash memory.
Cause
This issue occurs because of an unhandled error path in the Flash MDD.

Restart requirement
After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.

On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
