Symptoms
In Microsoft Office Word 2007, you try to install Avery Wizard 3.0 Software for Microsoft Office. When you do this, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Word 97 or higher not found on this machine. Setup will terminate.
Setup for the Avery Wizard closes after you close the error message dialog box.
In Microsoft Word 2002, you run Setup for the Avery Wizard for Microsoft Word 2000. When you do this, you receive the following error message:
Setup could not locate Microsoft Word 2000
Click OK to exit this install.
Then, Setup for the Avery Wizard closes.
Cause
This issue occurs because Word program files and registry keys use "versioning" to improve coexistence with earlier installations.
Avery designed the Avery Wizard for Microsoft Word 2000 before the release of Microsoft Word 2002. Therefore, the wizard's setup program searches for the earlier-version program files and registry keys before the setup program installs the wizard.
Workaround
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: If you installed Avery Wizard before you upgraded to Word 2002
If you installed the Avery Wizard for Microsoft Word 2000 before you upgraded to Word 2002, you can continue to use the wizard with Microsoft Word 2002. To do this, copy and paste the A20MSW00.dot file from the following location
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Startup
to the following location:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Startup
Method 2: If you upgraded to Word 2002 before you installed Avery Wizard
If you upgraded from Microsoft Word 2000 to Microsoft Word 2002 before you installed the Avery Wizard, you must revert to the earlier version of Microsoft Word or Office, install the Avery Wizard, and then perform the Word or Office upgrade again before you can use the wizard. To do this, follow these steps:

Uninstall Office XP or Word 2002.

Install Office 2000 or Word 2000.

Install the Avery Wizard.

Install Office XP or Word 2002.
NOTE: The Avery Wizard is a supplemental, third-party add-in and is not required for printing envelopes or labels in Microsoft Word.
Method 3: If you did not install the latest version of Avery Wizard
Avery Wizard 3.0 Software for Microsoft Office is designed to work with the following versions of Word:

Microsoft Word 97

Microsoft Word 2000
-
Microsoft Word 2002
-
Microsoft Office Word 2003
