Symptoms

An updated client setup file (ccmsetup.exe) is available for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager version 1511. This update resolves the following issues:

  • When you migrate clients from Configuration Manager 2007 to System Center Configuration Manager version 1511, an unexpected restart occurs if the target client has a version of the .NET Framework that's earlier than 4.5.2 installed. Additionally, log entries that resemble the following are logged in the ccmsetup.log file, even when the /norestart parameter is used:

Forcing a reboot because the system is in maintenance mode and the client required a reboot to complete setup.

  • During the automatic client upgrade process, clients on a corporate network (intranet) try to contact an Internet-only management point. IN this situation, errors that resemble the following are logged in the ccmsetup.log file:

    Found INF MP '{Internet_Facing_ManagementPoint}'
    Found assigned MP '{Intranet_ManagementPoint}'
Found 2 MP(s) from the client.
Client is set to use HTTPS when available. The current state is 480.
Failed to receive ccm message response. Status code = 403
Failed to get site version from MP '{Internet_Facing_ManagementPoint}' with error 0x80004005

Note Both issues are resolved in System Center Configuration Manager version 1602.
