Warning: The retired, out-of-support Internet Explorer 11 desktop application has been permanently disabled through a Microsoft Edge update on certain versions of Windows 10. For more information, see Internet Explorer 11 desktop app retirement FAQ.

Symptoms

On a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, you use Windows Internet Explorer 8 to browse a Web page. You maximize the window that contains the Web page. This Web page contains a pop-up window. In this scenario, part of the pop-up window appears off-screen. However, you expect the pop-up window to appear completely on-screen.

Cause

This issue occurs because of a design change in Internet Explorer 8. To support its use on multiple monitors, Internet Explorer 8 does not restrict pop-up windows to the display area of a single monitor.
