Text in Latin, Greek, or Cyrillic letters is reversed in Word 2013

Assume that you have a Microsoft Word document that contains text in a language that's written (and read) in a left-to-right direction. This includes Latin-based languages such as English, and it also includes Greek and Cyrillic. If you run the RTLRun internal macro to set the direction of the text to right-to-left, the text in words that are written in Latin characters is reversed. For example, the word "Text" is changed to "txeT."

This problem also occurs when a document that has such text is created in an older version of Word and is then opened in Word 2013. For example, you may encounter this problem when a document consists mostly of text that's written from right to left, such as in Arabic or Hebrew, but the text contains some words in Latin letters, such as product names.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem is fixed in Microsoft Word 2016.
