Microsoft Office Visio Viewer 2007 may have been installed when you installed Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 or another product that is included in the 2007 Microsoft Office system. If Visio Viewer 2007 is installed on the computer, you must apply this security update.

This update changes the CLSID of the Visio Viewer ActiveX control and sets the killbit for the previous CLSID to make sure that the previous version of the control cannot be instantiated in Internet Explorer. The new CLSID is {F8CF7A98-2C45-4c8d-9151-2D716989DDAB}. The old CLSID is {279D6C9A-652E-4833-BEFC-312CA8887857}. If you are using the Visio Viewer control in a compiled or managed application, you may have to update your solution to reference the new CLSID. Solutions that use Visual Basic for Applications in Microsoft Office do not have to be updated and will continue to function as expected.
