Symptom 1On the sign-in page for OWA, the option to have a Private or Public session may be missing. Or, the option to have a Private or Public session may appear when it should not.
Symptom 2After you sign in to OWA, the user interface is missing options. And, the performance of OWA is not as robust as expected. For example, OWA may display only the primary system folders in the folder tree, and any customer folders must be selected to be viewed.
Cause 1Symptom 1 may occur if the client has a custom logon page for OWA. Custom pages sometimes remove options such as the option to have a Private or Public session.
Cause 2Symptom 2 may occur if the user is forced to use OWA Lite mode. OWA Lite is a reduced-function version of OWA Premium.
Depending on the web browser that the customer is using, they may be forced to use OWA Lite. For Exchange Server 2010, the web browser requirements for using OWA Premium are as follows:
- Internet Explorer 7 or a later version
- Mozilla Firefox 3.01 or a later version
- Google Chrome 3.1 or a later version
- Apple Safari 3.1 or a later version
- Internet Explorer 6 or a later version.
No other browsers can be used together with OWA Premium on Exchange Server 2007.
Note This issue may also occur if the Use the blind and low vision check box is selected on the Accessibility page in Options for OWA.
