When you run the sys.dm_exec_query_stats script to query the state of the stored procedure in a cached query plan, the instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 causes large memory allocations when the MEMOBJ_XSTMT type is used.
You may also notice that the instance of SQL Server consumes more memory than the maximum server memory. In some cases, it may consume all the available physical memory.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
