If you click the Call button at the bottom of a large persistent chat room that has many active participants in Microsoft Skype for Business 2016, it will create a conference and invite all those people. To avoid this situation, this update supports you to hide the mode bar (including the Call button) at the bottom of a persistent chat room.
To get this update, install the May 9, 2017, security update (KB3191858) for Skype for Business 2016.
Note After you install the update, a new HideGroupChatRoomModebar parameter is added in both Group Chat settings and Group Policy settings.
You can run the New-CsClientPolicyEntry -Name "HideGroupChatRoomModebar" –Value "True" cmdlet to hide the bottom mode bar in a group chat room.
