This update for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 fixes an issue in the .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, and 4.7. We recommend that you apply this update as part of your regular maintenance routines. Before you install this update, see the "Prerequisites" and "Restart requirement" sections.
Assume that you have a touch-enabled or stylus-enabled system that has the May 2017 Preview of Quality Rollup for the .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, and 4.6.2 (KB 4104606) installed. After you install the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) applications may crash and return a COMException error on startup because of an incorrect configuration of COM registrations.
This update fixes systems that are already in this state, and prevents any systems from entering this state in the future.
