FIX: "Type of property must be a Dimension" error when you try to import data by using the Excel Add-in in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use the Microsoft Dynamics AX Add-in for Excel in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 to import data into Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • You add a table by using the Add Data button in the Dynamics AX ribbon in Excel.
  • You bind several fields. This includes one or more dimension fields.
  • You update the data in one of the dimension fields.

In this scenario when you publish the changes in the workbook, you receive the following error message:

Type of property must be a Dimension
