Application Compatibility Update for Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2: November 2012

INTRODUCTION

The Windows Application Compatibility Update is a software update that improves the compatibility experience in the following Microsoft Windows operating systems:
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows 7
  • Windows Server 2008 R2

Issue that is resolved by this application compatibility update

Assume that you try to install an application on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Additionally, the application uses the .NET Verification Tool (Setupverifier.exe) for the installation procedure. In this situation, the installation fails. For example, you try to install AutoCAD 2012 and the installation fails.

This issue occurs because the .NET Verification Tool process fails. Therefore, the installation fails.
