Description of the Excel 2010 hotfix package (excel-x-none.msp, graph-x-none.msp): February 22, 2011

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

Consider the following scenario:

• You create a workbook that contains a filter dropdown control in one of its cells in Microsoft Excel 2010.

• You save the workbook as an Excel 97-2003 format workbook.

• You open the workbook in Excel 2003.

In this scenario, the filter dropdown control is not in the expected cell. Instead, it is moved to another cell in the workbook.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
