Reports Do Not Appear to Print When Generated to Report Server

Symptoms

Reports with an output type of Printer do not appear to print when generated to the Report Server, despite having queued and processed successfully.

Cause

Depending on the FRx version, the report will print to default printer of the Reporter Server or the printer selected in the Output Options tab.

Resolution

FRx 5.5 and FRx 6.0:Reports generated to the Report Server will print to the default printer on the Report Server itself - this may not be the same as the printer used on the local workstation. To have the report printed on the local workstation's default printer, the report must be generated locally.FRx 6.5 and later:Reports will print to the printer selected in the Output Options tab. To select a printer:From within the catalog, click on the Output Options tab. Click the Define Printers button. Select either a local or server printer - the report will be printed to the printer selected.
