Addition of ROIScan to the tools found under ADVANCED Tools
The Robust Office Inventory Scan (ROIScan) tool has been included as a vbs script in TechNet for many versions of Office. This is a popular tool for troubleshooting issues such as Office installation and Office updating.
Easier access to log files
The previous screen shot shows a new tab that's labeled Collected Log Files. This tab is located under Configuration Details in your reports. The list of files in Collected Log Files varies by the application that's scanned or the tool that's run under Advanced Tools. For example, the following screen shot shows files that are available for an Excel scan.
More control over the OffCAT icon in the Windows Notification area
OffCAT adds an icon to the Windows Notification area that's part of a feature set that manages rule file updates, add-in integration, and real-time crash detection. To give you more control over the display of this icon, we added the Disable option to the context menu for the icon.
Give OffCAT your rating
In addition to the Tell us what you liked and Tell us what we could do better feedback options, you can also rate your OffCAT experience by using the new 5-star rating control on the HELP/FEEDBACK screen.
Can OffCAT be scripted to run on a client on which OffCAT isn't installed?
Yes. The files that are installed by the OffCAT.msi file include OffCATcmd.exe. This is a command-line version of OffCAT. For more information, see the "Generating a Scan using the Command-line version of OffCAT" section of the OffCAT v2.2 ReadMe - full version.docx file.
Which Office programs can be scanned by OffCAT?
OffCAT v2.2 can scan the following Office program:
OneDrive for Business
Skype for Business
Why does selecting more than one program tile on the NEW SCAN PAGE generate separate scan files for each Office program?
This occurs because the OffCAT detection rules are program-specific. For example, if you're looking at a scan for Microsoft Office PowerPoint, you'll see only the detected issues that are relevant to PowerPoint. This behavior lets you focus on the Office programs that might be experiencing the most issues without having to read a large scan report for all Office programs at one time.
If you want to submit feedback or improvement suggestions for OffCAT, click HELP/FEEDBACK in the OffCAT menu bar.
When you click Tell us what you liked or Tell us what we could do better, an email message is created and addressed to OffCATsupp@microsoft.com. Please provide as many details as possible so that we can provide a thorough review for your request.
Important Please be aware that you may not be contacted after you submit feedback.
