Compilation errors when installing packages

Problem

* installing *source* package ‘Rcpp’ ...

** package ‘Rcpp’ successfully unpacked and MD5 sums checked

** libs

g++ -I/usr/lib64/RRO-8.0/R-3.1.1/lib/R/include -DNDEBUG -I../inst/include/ -I/usr/local/include    -fpic  -g -O2  -c Date.cpp -o Date.o

/bin/bash: g++: command not found

make: *** [Date.o] Error 127

ERROR: compilation failed for package ‘Rcpp’

* removing ‘/usr/lib64/RRO-8.0/R-3.1.1/lib/R/library/Rcpp’

* installing *source* package ‘nloptr’ ...

somehow it does not ask for gcc which I did install following http://mran.revolutionanalytics.com/documents/rro/installation/#revorinst-lin

Solution

This is a problem with our install.sh script not installing the package named g++ for you.

If you run this command on your system
sudo apt-get install g++
and then re-install RRO, you should ready to go.
