This article describes the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated August 28, 2012.
INTRODUCTION
Issues that this hotfix package fixes

Assume that you delete a version of a list item in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. However, the AllDocVersions table that is associated with the deleted version is not deleted from the content database.

Assume that a custom list on a SharePoint site contains a Date and Time type column that has a calculated value. In this situation, a user who has Contribute permissions to the custom list but Limited Access permissions to the site cannot add a list item to the custom list.

After you edit the current master page of a source site collection, the content deployment import job fails. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
FatalError: Value cannot be null.

Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problems that are described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problems described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. To install this hotfix, you must have Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 3, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2, or Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 1 installed.
