2016 — Egypt cancels DST
Egypt has permanently canceled its observation of daylight savings time (DST). The DST adjustment for this year was scheduled to begin on Friday, July 8, 2016, at midnight (24:00). This change affects the following time zone.

This update applies to the following operating systems:

The update that is described in this article removes the DST adjustment for Egypt Standard Time starting in 2016.

PrerequisitesTo apply this update, you must have the April 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 (2919355) installed on Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. Or, install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Or, install Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista and for Windows Server 2008.
There are no prerequisites to install this update on Windows Server 2012.
Registry informationTo apply this update, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.
Restart requirementYou do not have to restart the computer after you install this update.
