An Event ID 2019 may be logged and the server may either stop responding or restart

Symptoms

With an IBM server that has teamed network adapters and 3Com Dynamic Access MiniPort drivers, when you examine the System event log, the following event may be logged:

Event ID 2019
Pool non-paged
The server was unable to allocate from the system non-paged pool because the pool was empty.
The server may either stop responding or restart.

Cause

This behavior can occur because the kernel-mode tag, Dynamic Access Protocol version 4 (DAP4), is leaking memory. This tag is provided by 3Com. The tag is a driver that is loaded into the computer for the 3Com 3C98x family of network adapters. The 3Com 3C980C-TXM network adapter is an example.

Resolution

To resolve this behavior, please contact 3COM for an updated version of the Dynamic Access software.
