Group membership removal operation fails when this operation is for a deleted user account in Windows Server 2008 R2

This article describes an issue in which the group membership removal operation fails when this operation is performed on a deleted user account in Active Directory in Windows Server 2008 R2. A hotfix is available to fix this issue. Before you install this hotfix, see the Prerequisites section.

Symptoms

This issue may occur if you install hotfix 2844009.

For example, when a user is deleted in Active Directory, Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) doesn't synchronize Active Directory changes to target directories.

To apply this hotfix, install Service Pack 1 in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
