FIX: Problems may occur when you try to play, to fast-forward, or to rewind a Windows Media file by using Windows Media Player on a Windows CE 5.0-based device

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You try to play, to fast-forward, or to rewind a Microsoft Windows Media file. You do this by using Microsoft Windows Media Player on a Microsoft Windows CE 5.0-based device. In this scenario, one of the following problems may occur:
  • If the Windows Media file is corrupted, Windows Media Player stops responding, or an access violation occurs.
  • If the Windows Media file is a .wma file that contains audio markers, Windows Media Player stops responding.
  • If the Windows Media file is a multiple-bit-rate .wma file or a multiple-language .wma file, you receive a "division by zero" error message.
  • If the Windows Media file is an .asf file that contains a header that is not valid, you receive an "out of memory" error message.
