Description of the Project 2007 hotfix package (Project-x-none.msp): February 28, 2012


This article describes the Microsoft Office Project 2007 issues that are fixed in the Project 2007 hotfix package that is dated February 28, 2012.


Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you try to open a project that contains a cost resource assignment that has costs that were manually entered, Project 2007 crashes. BUG #: 31770 (OfficeQFE)
  • You experience one of the following symptoms when you use views in Project 2007.
    • You receive one of the following error messages:
      • You cannot modify a table using the TableEdit method in a view that is not a sheet view. Apply a sheet view, and then try again.
      • This is not a valid number for the ColumnPosition argument. Specify a number for ColumnPosition that is less than or equal to the number of columns in the table.
    • Project 2007 crashes. BUG #: 32004 (OfficeQFE)
  • Assume that you have a project that is hosted on a Microsoft Project Web App (PWA) site, and you try to open the project or switch the view in the project in Project 2007. In this situation, Project 2007 crashes, or the view displays no content. BUG #: 32022 (OfficeQFE)
  • When Project 2007 tests or truncates contour information about the actual work during a process, such as saving a template, Project 2007 may crash.BUG #: 32095 (OfficeQFE)
  • Assume that you copy some data that contains an odd number of characters from a row in an Excel worksheet, and then you paste the data into a column in a task in a Project 2007 project. In this scenario, the last character in the data in the column is removed.BUG #: 32382 (OfficeQFE)
  • Consider the following scenarios:
    • You change the timephased work in a Project 2007 project.
    • You change the remaining work for a task or assignment in a Project 2007 project.
    • You enter a time value for the timephased work, and the time scale granularity is more than one day.
    In these scenarios, the actual work is rescheduled unexpectedly. Additionally, you do not receive a message that notifies you that the project is out of sync with the Project server.BUG #: 31838 (OfficeQFE)

Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problems described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
