Watch Mode turns your Microsoft Band into a digital wristwatch. It works like a screensaver that shows the time, day, and date.



Turn Watch Mode on or off

Turning Watch Mode off helps save battery life on your Microsoft Band. When Watch Mode is off, the touchscreen goes dark when you’re not using your Band. Here’s to turn Watch Mode on or off:

Step 1: Press the power button.
Step 2: Swipe left and tap the Settings Tile Asset not found > Watch Mode  Watch icon.
Step 3: Under Watch Mode, tap to turn Watch Mode Always On or Off.

If you’re using Microsoft Band 2, you can save battery life by turning on Rotate On, which shows the time only when you rotate your wrist. Here’s how to turn it on:

Step 1: Swipe left and tap the Settings Tile Asset not found > Watch Mode  Watch icon.
Step 2: Tap Rotate On.
Step 3: Choose the location where you wear your Band (Left arm/Right arm > Inside wrist/Outside wrist) and tap Accept Asset not found.
Whether Watch Mode is on or off, you can press the power button to bring up the Me Tile.

Change your Band’s time settings

You can change your Band’s time settings in the Settings Tile. Here’s how:

24 Hour Time

You can choose to show the time in 12-hour or 24-hour format.

Step 1: Press the power button.
Step 2: Swipe left and tap the Settings Tile Asset not found > Watch Mode  Watch icon .
Step 3: Swipe left, and under 24 Hour Time, tap On or Off.

Auto Set Time

Use Auto Set Time to set the time zone, time, and date on your Band.

    • When Auto Set Time is on, your Band automatically matches its time settings with those on your phone.
    • When Auto Set Time is off, you can set the time zone, time, and date manually.

Step 1: Press the power button.
Step 2: Swipe left and tap the Settings Tile Asset not found > Watch Mode  Watch icon.
Step 3:

Swipe left, and under Auto Set Time, tap On or Off.


Set the time zone manually

When Auto Set Time is off, you can set the time zone on your Microsoft Band manually. Here’s how:


Step 1: Press the power button.
Step 2: Swipe left and tap the Settings Tile Asset not found  > Watch Mode  Watch icon.
Step 3: Swipe left, and under Auto Set Time, tap Off.
Step 4: Swipe left, and under Time Zone, tap the current setting.
Step 5: Swipe to and tap your geographic location and the name of the country, state, or city in your time zone.

Set the time and date manually

When Auto Set Time is off, you can set the time and date on your Band manually. Here’s how:
Step 1: Press the power button.
Step 2: Swipe left and tap the Settings Tile Asset not found > Watch Mode  Watch icon.
Step 3: Swipe left, and under Auto Set Time, tap Off.
Step 4: Swipe left, and under Set Time, tap to set the time.
Step 5: Swipe left, and under Today’s Date, tap to set the day, month, and year.

Set an alarm

Step 1: Swipe left and tap the Alarm & Timer Tile

Step 2: Tap the Reminder box to set the alarm time.
Step 3: Choose how often the reminder repeats (once, daily, weekdays, or weekends) and tap Accept Asset not found.
Step 4: When the alarm alerts you, swipe left and tap Dismiss or Snooze.

Tap

Alarm on, tap to turn off
to turn off the alarm.

Set a timer

Step 1: Swipe left and tap the Alarm & Timer Tile

Step 2: Swipe left, and under Timer, tap the boxes to set hours, minutes, and seconds.
Step 3: Press the action button to start timing.
Step 4: When the timer alerts you, swipe left and tap Dismiss.

Use the stopwatch

Step 1: Swipe left and tap the Alarm & Timer Tile

Step 2: Swipe left to Stopwatch.
Step 3: Press the action button to start the stopwatch.

While the stopwatch is running, you can tap Lap

Lap icon
to start timing a new lap or Black  Back arrow  to return to the Start Strip.

If you want to pause the stopwatch, press the action button. While the stopwatch is paused, swipe left and tap End Session to stop the stopwatch.

Resume or end your bike ride
