Description of the Office Excel 2007 hotfix package (xlconv-x-none.msp, graph-x-none.msp, excel-x-none.msp): October 26, 2010


This article describes the Microsoft Office Excel 2007 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated October 26, 2010.


Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Microsoft Office Excel 2007 may crash when you perform one of the following operations on a cell that uses the CUBEVALUE() function:
    • You extend formulas from a condition formatted cell to adjacent cells by using the fill handle.
    • You copy the condition formatted cell and then you paste the formula to another cell.

  • You cannot save an Excel workbook in the Open XML file format in Office Excel 2007 when all the following conditions are true:
    • The Excel workbook is a shared workbook.
    • The Excel workbook has information rights management (IRM) enabled.

  • Calculation results of negative date values in a Pivot Table may be incorrect if you enable the Use 1904 date system option in Office Excel 2007.

  • When you open an Excel workbook that contains an Excel 4.0 chart in Office Excel 2007, the title of the chart is displayed very large and part of the chart is covered by the text box.

  • In Office Excel 2007, conditional formatting may be lost on array formulas in an XLSX workbook.

  • After you apply the hotfix that is described in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 983314, Office Excel 2007 may stop responding. This issue occurs when one of the following conditions is true:
    • You try to calculate array formulas that depend on a circular reference.
    • You try to calculate array formulas that are included in a circular reference.
