Known issues with this security update

  • After you install this security update, an application that uses objects that are derived from the CArchive class may crash. To resolve this problem, install hotfix 2584577. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
    2584577 FIX: An application that uses objects that are derived from the CArchive class may crash after you install security update 2506212
  • After you install the Windows Fax Services component on Windows Server 2003, update 2506212 will be offered even if you have already installed it. You are expected to reinstall update 2506212 to have your computer updated.

    Note Windows Fax Services is an optional component on Windows Server 2003. To install the Windows Fax Services component, click Control Panel, click Add Remove programs, click Windows Components, and then click Fax services.
