Error message when you run the database plug-in assembly in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0: "This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms"

Symptoms

Assume that you enable Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. When you run the database plug-in assembly, you receive the following error message:
This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.

Cause

This problem occurs because the MD5CryptoServiceProvider algorithm is not FIPS compliant.

Resolution
