Description of the Outlook 2007 hotfix package (Outlook-x-none.msp): August 28, 2012

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 hotfix package that is dated August 28, 2012.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you connect to the Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online service, Outlook 2007 enters a disconnected state because the password is expired. However, you do not receive a notification that the password is expired.

After you install this hotfix, a dialog box appears if the password is expired. The dialog box directs you to a site where you can change your password. BUG #: 33440 (OfficeQFE)
  • Assume that you have a Microsoft SharePoint list that contains lots of calendar items (for example, 600 calendar items). When you sync the SharePoint calendar to your Outlook 2007 calendar, lots of duplicate calendar items are generated. Additionally, if the duplicate calendar items exceed the storage limit, Outlook crashes.
    BUG #: 32655 (OfficeQFE)
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a recurring meeting that has some attendees in Outlook 2007.
    • You add a Meeting Workspace to the recurring meeting.
    • You add an additional attendee to a single occurrence of the meeting.
    • You remove some attendees from the whole series of meetings.
In this scenario, the additional attendee is also removed in the Meeting Workspace.
    BUG #: 32994 (OfficeQFE)
  • Assume that you enable the Desktop Alerts feature in Outlook 2007 when Outlook is running in online mode. In this situation, Outlook 2007 intermittently fails to receive new email notifications when you run Outlook against a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 server.
    BUG #: 33461 (OfficeQFE)
  • Assume that you select the "Don't download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items" check box on the Automatic Download tab in the Trust Center settings. Additionally, assume that the other check boxes on the tab are not selected. In this situation, you experience slow performance when you use the Outlook Object Model (OOM) to reply to an email message that contains several pictures.
    BUG #: 33559 (OfficeQFE)
  • When the Active Directory structure has an organizational unit (OU) that contains a slash mark (/) character, you cannot configure an Outlook profile by using the account auto-configuration feature.
    BUG #: 33613 (OfficeQFE)
  • When you copy some meetings from the Outlook calendar to a SharePoint calendar, the meetings are not synced to the SharePoint calendar. This issue occurs if the PstDisableGrow value in the following registry subkey is set to 1:

Note This problem does not occur when you copy appointments, tasks, or other SharePoint items.
