In Microsoft SQL Server 2005, you create a merge publication that is configured to use a Web synchronization subscription. When the Merge Agent synchronizes multiple batches of changes, the synchronization may take a long time to finish or the synchronization may expire unexpectedly.
If the Merge Agent is interrupted when it is synchronizing multiple batches of changes, it does not update the list of generations that have already been enumerated. Therefore, it will re-enumerate the list. This causes the performance problem.
