Update including December 2015 and April 2016 cumulative time zone updates is available for Windows Embedded Compact 2013

Introduction

This article describes an update that includes the May 2016 cumulative time zone updates for Windows Embedded Compact 2013. Before you install the update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

This update changes the time zone data to accommodate the daylight saving time (DST) changes in several countries in Windows Embedded Compact 2013.

Azerbaijan

The scheduled switch to DST on Sunday, March 27, 2016, in Azerbaijan is canceled. Azerbaijan will, instead, stay on UTC+4 all year.

Chile

Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has created its own time zone. The new North Korea Standard Time will have a display name of "(UTC+08:30) Pyongyang."

Fiji

DST in Fiji will now start on Sunday, November 1, 2015 and last for 11 weeks. Clocks will be set forward from 02:00 to 03:00 on November 1, 2015, and be set backward from 03:00 to 02:00 on Sunday, January 17, 2016. This time zone will observe the following DST rules:
  • Start date: The first Sunday of November at 02:00 (clocks move forward by one hour)
  • End date: The third Sunday of January at 03:00 (clocks move backward by one hour)

Haiti

Russia

In accordance with recently passed Russian law, the following regions in Russia were scheduled to switch time zones on March 27, 2016, at 02:00 local time. Microsoft has released an update to Windows, dated Tuesday, April 12, 2016, to reflect these changes.

Turkey

Turkey will end DST two weeks later than usual for 2015. Clocks will turn back one hour from 04:00 to 03:00 on Sunday, November 8, 2015. This time zone will observe the following DST rules:

  • End date: The second Sunday of November at 04:00 (clocks move backward by one hour)

Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:
  • On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
