Calendar item is displayed incorrectly in the Jerusalem time zone in Outlook for Mac

Symptoms

When you use Microsoft Outlook 2016 for Mac or Outlook for Mac 2011 in the Jerusalem time zone, you experience one of the following issues:
  • The duration of a recurring appointment or meeting increases.
  • A recurring appointment or meeting shifts unexpectedly to a different start and end time.

Cause

This issue may occur for one of the following reasons:
  • The duration of a recurring appointment or meeting can increase if you delete an occurrence in the series.

These conditions exist because the time zone definitions that are used by Outlook 2016 for Mac and Outlook for Mac 2011 cannot accurately represent the Jerusalem time zone.
