An updated reservation may disappear on a DHCP failover cluster in Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2

This article describes an issue that occurs on a DHCP failover cluster. A hotfix is available to fix this issue. The hotfix has a prerequisite.

Symptoms

After you update an existing reservation from the DHCP Server Management console, it can cause an inconsistent state of the reservation on DHCP failover nodes. Moreover, the reservation isn't shown under Reservations in the DHCP Server management console. Additionally, you may be unable to create a new reservation, or the new reservation can result in different outputs of the Netsh DHCP server export and dump command.
