Symptoms

In a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 environment, you may encounter inconsistent behavior on byte conversions for some characters when you use the DB2 provider. For example, when the provider converts 0x15 from EBCDIC to ANSI, you may unexpectedly receive 0x3F instead of 0x85 as expected.

Notes

  • This problem occurs when the DB2 provider is called from managed code by using the Microsoft.HostIntegration.MsDb2Client namespace.

  • This problem does not occur when the DB2 provider is called from unmanaged code by using the System.Data.OleDb namespace.
