Symptoms

In a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 environment, when you try to run more than one two-phase commit transactions in one unit of work (UOW), the operation is not successful.

For example, in Host Integration Server 2010, you use the Persist Connections property in the Client Context object order to execute the Customer Information Control System (CICS) Transactions in the same UOW. However, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

HISMAGB0012.

When processing parameter parameter_name in method method_name the data type of the parameter or of an element within the parameter is not of the expected type. Check the program. If it is correct, verify that the correct Transaction Integrator-created library is deployed

Note This problem does not occur in a Host Integration Server 2006 environment.

Cause

This problem occurs because Transaction Integrator does not correctly handle persistent connections when it shares client context between two Transaction Integrator objects.

The hotfix that resolves this issue is included in cumulative update package 2 for Host Integration Server 2010.
