In Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, the export-activesynclog command reports devices as "Unknown" in the compliance section for the users.csv output file.
For the compliance section of the user.csv report, the export-activesynclog command searches for the cmd=provision entry for each user in the Internet Information Services (IIS) log file. This command is used when the device downloads the policy. This procedure occurs the first time that the device synchronizes or if the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) policy is changed.
If the device does not issue a provision in the IIS log that is being processed, the device is listed as "Unknown." Rerun the command to process IIS logs from different days on which the provision command was issued.
The export-activesynclog pulls these columns from the IIS log to process information about the sync commands:
