Consider the following scenario:
- You use a user account whose name contains East Asian (Chinese, Japanese, or Korean) characters on a computer that is running Windows 7 in a domain environment.
- You upgrade the computer to Windows 8.
- You try to log on to the computer by using the user name.
To work around this issue, shift the focus to the Password field, and then shift the focus back to the User name field.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
