If a driver for your device couldn’t be automatically installed, there may be an optional driver available that your printer can use. You can check by following the steps below:

  1. Select Start Settings > Windows Update.

  2. Select Check for updates at the top of the page.

  3. After the system is done checking for updates, select Advanced options.

  4. Select Optional updates.

  5. Select Driver updates if it's an option on the page.

  6. Select the box next to the driver that's associated with the device you're attempting to install.

  7. Select the Download & install button.

Note: If you didn't find an optional driver that works for your printer, you might need to download and install the driver from the printer manufacturer’s website. Go to How to install the latest driver for your printer.
