As of June 2024, the mini Teams experience in Microsoft Teams (free) will no longer be available to those using Windows 23H2 or higher. If you're on versions of Windows below 23H2, you will continue to have the Chat signature experience available. To get the latest Windows experience, select Start > Settings > Windows Update, then select Check for updates. If updates are available, you can install them.
In Microsoft Teams (free) you can update your account name and add, change, or remove your profile picture within the app.
To update your profile:

Tap your profile picture, then tap Settings .

Tap Profile .

Tap Edit image to:
-
Open photo library.Choose from your existing photos.

Camera. Take a new profile photo. You may be asked to allow access to your camera.

View photo. View the current profile photo you have set.
-
Remove photo. Remove your current profile photo.
-

Tap the Pencil button to update your account name.

Review the communities you're a member of by checking under Your communities.
Note: When you update your account name here, it will update your Microsoft account.
To update your profile:

Tap your profile picture or More , then tap Settings .

Tap Profile .

Tap Edit to:

Take photo. Take a new profile photo. You may be asked to allow access to your camera.

Choose existing photo. You will be taken to your camera roll to choose a photo.

View photo. View the current profile photo you have set.

Remove photo. Remove your current profile photo.

Edit name. Update your account name.

Review the communities you're a member of by checking under Your communities.
Note: When you update your account name here, it will update your Microsoft account.
To update your profile picture:

Open Microsoft Teams (free).

From the mini Teams window in Windows 11, select the button to open Microsoft Teams (free).

From Chat in Windows 11, select the Open Teams button .

Select your profile picture towards the top.

Select your profile picture again. From there you can:

Upload picture. You will be taken to your saved files to choose a photo.

Remove picture. Remove your current profile photo.

To update your account name:

Select your profile picture towards the top.

Select your current display name.

Select Edit name.

Update your account name, then select Save.

To update your account name in Microsoft Teams (free) for Windows 11:

Open Microsoft Teams (free):

From the mini Teams window in Windows 11, select the button to open Microsoft Teams (free).

From Chat in Windows 11, select the Open Teams button.

Select your profile picture towards the top.

Next to your current display name, select the edit button.

Update your account name, then select Save.
Note: When you update your account name here, it will update your Microsoft account.
To manage your account:
Note: This is not currently available in Microsoft Teams (free) for Windows 11.

Select Settings and more near your profile picture.

Select Settings .

Select Accounts, then select the Manage button, and you will be taken to your Microsoft account page.
To update your profile picture:

Select your profile picture towards the top.

Select your profile picture again. From there you can:
