If a parcel-based installation of CDH with an existing installation of Revolution R Enterprise is upgraded to a more recent version of CDH, Revolution R will be rendered inoperative as there are environment settings in the Revolution R specific to the version of CDH at the time of RRE installation. The suggested upgrade process for CDH with RRE is:

Deactivate and remove Revolution R Enterprise 7.3 parcel from all nodes in the cluster.

Perform CDH upgrade.

Re-distribute and activate Revolution R Enterprise 7.3 parcel to all nodes in the cluster.
